Let the Sun Do the Work

The solar industry has gained in popularity over the past few years. Now that solar energy is making its way to the top, most homeowners are thinking about whether or not solar is right for them. If you are interested in installing solar panels in your home, then you might want to know these solar energy facts:
1. It helps reduce air pollution
The harmful carbon dioxide and methane emissions that we emit from fossil fuels are major contributors to global warming. Producing electricity using solar panels creates energy without harmful greenhouse gases. As a matter of fact, the solar capacity is expected to equalize as much as a million metric tons of harmful carbon dioxide within a year. According to a study, 89% of the harmful emissions produced by electricity generation can be eliminated by switching to solar energy.
2. Millions of solar power systems were installed in the United States
In 2016, there were millions of solar power systems that were installed in the United States alone. This figure is supplemented by the projected growth of solar panel installation over the next two years; implying that solar is the fastest growing renewable energy in the world.
3. It helps reduce water pollution
While energy plants require water to generate electricity, the solar photovoltaic cells do not. This is considered a great advantage of solar power. The geothermal power plants require large amounts of water to support vital cooling requirements. In switching to solar power, we can avoid this superfluous use of water.
4. Decrease the need for limited resources
The sun can produce up to 173,000 terawatts of renewable energy in just one second. Fossil fuels, however, are a nonrenewable resource that will at some point run out—hiking up costs and destroying our environment along the way.  Going solar now is the best way to fight against the reality of limited fuel resources.
5. Serves as a way of educating people about the environment
Solar panels are great conversation starters and provide an opportunity to encourage people to “go green” and make environmentally friendly choices.
6. No hazardous waste
Aside from releasing harmful carbon dioxide every year, some of the power plants located in the United States also produce other kinds of hazardous waste. The waste being produced is dumped in abandoned mining places, toxic ponds, and landfills. Using solar power, you need not worry about toxic waste management. It simply generates electricity by obtaining heat from the sun and converting it into energy without harmful byproducts.
For many years, humanity has depended on electricity produced by coal and oil. The harmful side effects have led to pollution in the air and water supply, and the production of toxic waste. Here, solar power can make a big difference. This allows us to have hope for a better and cleaner tomorrow.
